After spending four years at web video site Dailymotion.com, Grandin Donovan arrives at Nealite this March. As Product Manager, Grandin oversaw Dailymotion’s roadmap, guiding development and transforming business and user needs into new features.  Joining Nealite as a UX Manager, he brings his experience to bear in the conception and design of wider range of websites and mobile applications.

Grandin’s professional background has the common thread of asking questions and following leads. He studied English and Journalism at NYU, interning at magazines like ID and The New Yorker. After university he spent two years in Seattle at an architectural salvage firm, sniffing out pre-war buildings slated for demolition, and reclaiming anything beautiful or useful – from stained glass to vintage barbacks.

Grandin returned to New York in 2004 to work as an investigator for the CCRB, a city agency charged with reviewing allegations of NYPD misconduct, where his training in journalism was instrumental in conducting interviews and documentary research. A year-and-a-half later he left the Big Apple for the City of Lights, finding work at Dailymotion.com, where he edited the American homepage and helped develop anglophone content as the US Creative Manager. He soon moved to the Product team, where he enjoyed tackling the challenges of a novel media distribution platform

As co-organizer of UX Paris (@UXParis), Grandin tries to encourage the professional discourse around user-centered design within Paris. Outside of work, he likes to hunt down the culinary delights of the capital – French and otherwise – but, true to his roots, keeps a special place in his heart for the Joe Allen bacon cheeseburger.

Après 4 années passées chez Dailymotion.com, Grandin Donovan a rejoint Nealite début mars. En tant que Product Manager de Dailymotion, il a fortement contribué au développement stratégique et fonctionnel du site en s’appuyant systématiquement sur les beoins utilisateurs. En rejoignant Nealite comme UX Manager, il vient mettre son expérience au service de la conception et du design d’une large variété de sites web et d’applications mobile.

Diplômé en Anglais et Journalisme à l’Université de New York, Grandin a commencé à écrire pour des magazines comme ID ou le New-Yorker. A la fin de son cursus, il s’est rendu à Seattle pour travailler pendant 2 ans dans la récupération de matériaux architecturaux, recyclant tous les éléments pratiques ou esthétiques provenant des bâtiments d’avant-guerre. De retour à New York en 2004, il devient enquêteur pour le Civilian Complaint Review Board, un organisme chargé de réexaminer les allégations dirigées contre le NYPD. En 2007, il rejoint Dailymotion.com dans ses locaux parisiens et s’occupe de l’éditorial de la page d’accueil américaine ainsi que du développement des contenus anglophones. Puis il prendra la responsabilité du développement produit dans une logique d’innovation permanente.

Co-organisateur de UX Paris (@UXParis), Grandin cherche à encourager les discours professionnels sur le design d’expérience dans la capitale. A ses heures perdues, il aime aussi traquer les curiosités culinaires françaises mais reste fidèle à ses origines puisqu’il ne manque jamais de faire un détour pour Joe Allen pour savourer ses légendaires burgers.
